King of Pop

I am posting this a bit later then I anticipated but things have been super busy with me and the family.  But hey, the point is that I got it posted right?  If you have checked out Kreative Lil Invite’s awesome Halloween greetings, you know that we can design something really cool to match your child’s costume.  Halloween tends to be so hectic that many times, our friends and family do not get to see our kids in their Halloween gear, so my hubby and I always like to send out Halloween greetings so that all our loved ones can get a kick out this fun filled day!  Check out Adam’s greeting with his Michael Jackson costume.  It is hilarious, every time I see his MJ pictures I can not stop laughing and hope others get a kick out of it as well!
Better late then never!  Enjoy!

Tis the Season

This year was the first year Adam actually understood Christmas.  Last year he got the concept but was most excited about baking Santa cookies and ofcourse getting all this Christmas presents.  This year he is all about everything!  From decorating the tree and house, to writing Santa a letter and taking pictures with him.  So I helped Adam write his letter to Santa and all he asked for was a Wii…yep a Wii.  He is three...do three year olds actually NEED video games.  I am thinking maybe if they have educational games that help with his ABC’s and 123’s.  Other than that I am really against it. What do you think?

So last weekend, we got the kids ready and went to the mall to take pictures with Santa.  The line was longer than any line I had been to at Disneyland, but luckily I was at the mall, and I had my hubby with me so I shopped around until it was our turn.  Poor Adam was SO excited he could not contain himself!  He asked every 2 minutes if it was our turn yet.  He did not understand why we had to wait and why we couldn’t just get in front of everyone else.
Eventually, it was our turn and Adam bravely walked up to Santa and handed him his list.  He also verbally told him he wanted a “Wii”.  Kamran was not so brave, as soon as Sal gave him to Santa, he started crying, but sure enough, when Kamran noticed the camera flashing, he stopped crying and started waving and posing for pictures.  This holiday greeting is available at Kreative Lil Invites along with many more unique designs.

Here we go…Christmas 2009.

Kreative Lil Invites thrives on customizing invitations for our client’s special events.  My favorite order from October was one for a baby boy’s 1st birthday party.  The theme was buttons, and the story behind it is too cute!  Andrew Green was born November of 2008 and it was about the same time that the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was out.  Andrew’s father could not help but call his little bundle of joy Buttons because he was so wrinkled and reminded him of the movie.  And thus, the nickname Buttons stayed with Andrew, and we were able to create the perfect invitations for them.   We designed four total creations for them and they chose the one that was right for them with their color scheme and preferences.  This was an invitation for Andrew’s birthday and baptism, so it was a very special event for the family and we are thrilled to have been able to help them create such a unique and customized invitation!

Happy Halloween & Happy Birthday to Meeeeee

There is no doubt that Halloween is by far my favorite holiday of the year.  Not only do I love to dress up and be someone else for the night but it is also my birthday!  Ok, so maybe I loved it way more back in the day, and after age 30, I am a bit more depressed every year, but I still love love LOVE to dress up!
This year, my sister and hubby threw a birthday/costume party and it was a great time!  I love seeing what everyone’s costume’s are and going all out.  The theme of this party was a haunted pirate ship, the Black Pearl!  My sister and sister in law did an amazing job decorating as you can see from the pics.  To go along with the theme of the night, I dressed up as a pirate wench however could not convince the hubby to let me make him Jack Sparrow this year.  (we did that 4 years ago!)  Instead he decided to be a creepy nerd…this was his “great” costume idea which he would not share with anyone until that night.  Lets just say, next year, I will be dressing him up again!
We have had some really fun Halloween nights and I put together a collage of the past 5 Halloweens. (ofcourse last year I was 9 months prego with Kamran so I stayed home!)
Adam was definitely a hit this year with his Michael Jackson costume.  He wanted to be MJ since the first time we asked him what he would like to dress up as for Halloween and unlike last year, he stuck with it and did not change his mind a dozen times.  As for the Kamster, I know that I will never be able to get him in an animal costume again so I tool advantage of him being a baby and made him a monkey.  He seemed to love it besides the fact that it was 80 degrees outside and he only lasted in his costume for about an hour!  Check out the collage below of the kids dressed up through the past 4 Halloweens!   All in all, this was a wonderful Halloween and I am already planning my costume for next year.

Build a Baby

Everytime we go to Mission Viejo Mall, Adam begs to build a bear but I know that he will build one and forget about it the next day so I always say no.
Well, one day I finally promised him he could make one, so we go in there and it is so cool how you get to choose the skin, and fill it with fluff and put a sound in it and finally, make a wish on the heart.  Adam-rush-a-lot was so not enjoying this process step by step..he was always one step ahead of the process because he was so excited to get the finished bear.  And then when it came to all the choices of clothes…he chose a simple Halloween cape and eye piece.  We were trying to convince him to get the cool batman outfit or Lakers warm ups but he was set in his ways…as usual!  So he names his bear Nuget (noo-get), and was excited about him for about ohhhhhhh 3 HOURS.
After that, he was over it and it became Kamran’s toy.  I KNEW IT! I knew he would be so over it and it would be another $25 down the drain!

Adam made his little build a bear, and by the photo you can see that Sal and I made our own!

Adam has always had a “thing” for music since he was a baby…he loves listening to cool new songs, and playing all kinds of instruments.  Guitars, tambourines, flutes, keyboards, drums, you name it, he has it and loves it.  (Well, some of these toys did not last very long…he is not very gentle with them).  When I don’t let him play his instruments, or when he has broken one and does not have it anymore, he makes up his own…from shaker bottles to whistles, you get the picture!
Sal ordered Adam a REAL drum set last month, and Adam loves it!  I feel bad that he is so limited on when he can play it…usually he wants to bang on the drums as soon as he wakes up but he knows that the neighbors are sleeping and he should probable wait.  Between Kamran’s nap times, his nap times, and then bedtime, there is not much “drum” time, but we try.
This morning he played and was explaining to be what each part is…whoa…I was very impressed.  From the rack-tom, high-hat, symbol and drum, he knew each part and where it was!  Sal also had called about drum courses for Adam which I talked him out of since I think Adam might be too young.  He is three and don’t most courses recommend the child be at least four years old?  Now I am thinking maybe it would be a good idea to have an instructor come to the house and teach him the basics.  Decisions, decisions!!

Brotherly Love

Feels like it has been ages since I last wrote a post!  Life just gets so crazy and hectic sometimes...Crazy and hectic yet not a whole bunch going on.  I was able to manage putting together a few pictures of the boys.  Kamran is 10 months old now and he and Adam and getting close.  They play together and even fight over toys...it is really amazing to watch.  I am sure once Kamran starts walking they will spend even more time together. Although I have been super busy with creepy, crawly Halloween invitations for  Kreative Lil Invites, and am currently working on Christmas greetings, I am also putting together some fun crafts for Halloween and will be doing a couple a week..stay tuned to see how they turn out!!

Cupcakes, Sweet Things and Jelly Beans!

Jelly Beans mommy!  Can I please have some orange jelly beans, NO! purple jellybeans!  Oh wait, umm ya orange!!”  This is all I heard for three days following our friend’s daughter’s 2nd birthday party.  The kids were in sugar heaven, as this cupcake/candyland theme birthday party was a hit with everyone’s sweet tooth!

Brown and pink cupcakes enticingly sat upon a white, three tier platter – each with it’s own, non-edible lollipop topper!  WAIT!  It gets better!  The top tier of this beauty contained a GIANT pink cupcake which is the cake that Gianna (Ayah) cut after blowing out her candles.  Looking at this wonderful creation, I thought, there is no way that huge cupcake could be delicious too…boyyyy was I wrong!  This darling cake was red velvet and so yummy…I loved it!
Next to this platter, was another three tier platter.  The first two tiers on this platter contained goody boxes (full of jelly beans) for the kiddos.  The top tier had a big “G.A.”, the birthday girl’s initials.   Needless to say, their was some major sugar rushing going on that evening!  Not only did Adam stay WIDE awake on the entire ride home (which was 2 hours PAST his bedtime and a 20 min car ride) but it took me an entire hour to get Adam to fall asleep when we got home!

From big fat lollipops to delicious cupcakes, this mommy covered everything!  Rania is her name and she never ceases to amaze me when she is throwing her daughter’s birthday parties!!  Rania has two daughters, Giselle, age 3 and Gianna, age 2….I have the photos from this picture perfect birthday party posted with this blog, but will definitely get ahold of past birthday party décor and favors to show just how impressive Rania’s creations are!  So amazing and impressive that after being harassed by her friends and family for years to make a business out of her clever theme ideas and talent, she FINALLY did!

Le Petite Packages is the name of Rania’s new business venture and although her website is still under construction, if anyone is interested in her help for a birthday party or ANY party, please let me know and I can put you in contact with her!!  I know she will be very successful and I wish her the best!

Ahoy! A Pirates Life for Meeeeeee Mateeeeeey!

A few weeks ago, I posted a blog about a really fun pirate theme birthday invitation we were working on.  The boy's name is Dylan and he is the cutest thing ever!  He LOVES LOVES LOVES pirates and even though his theme for his birthday last year was pirates, he wanted that to be the theme AGAIN this year, as he turns 5.

We wanted to make his invitation very special, unique and fun!  Check it out...this is the front of the invitation, on the back is all the information, but we wanted to keep the front simple and clean with minimal text.  As of next week we will post this invitation on our site as well, for Kreative Lil Invites' fall line of invitations and would even be an awesome Halloween greeting!

Happy Birthday Captain Dylan Akram!

A Fashion Stylist Does a Girl Good!

As you can see my last post was written on Monday, so it has been a while since I last blogged BUT I have had so much to write about, just no time!  Trying to prepare for tonight's trip up north, and with the kids, I have had to break up all the items on my "to do" list day by day.  So lets start with Tuesday!  There was another fabulous Start Up Princess (SUPA) meeting which was covered image and fashion which is a must have in any business.  SUPA is a group of women who have their own business and we meet once a month for tips and networking opportunities.
So we had a personal image consultant come in and talk to us about how to organize your wardrobe, creating your own style and had tons of helpful quick tips!  Her name is Jessica and not only did she tell us what we should keep in our "survival kits" but she had one for each girl there!  Mine contained a mini lint roller, shout wipes and blotting paper.  Such a cute presentation and totally motivated me to clean out my closet and organize it!!  I think the best piece of information I got from her was to use a tackle box (yes the ones found in the fishing dept!) for earrings!  That seriously solved my issue with earrings getting tangled amongst eachother and getting lost!  PHEW!  THANKS Jessica!!  When I am really rich I am definitely going to hire her as my personal shopper!!

Water, Water, Everywhere!

Wow...that is all I have to say about the HEAT that has been in our weather forecasts lately!  I think we had been a bit spoiled this summer with the nice breezes and cooler than average temps.  This past week, however proved that summer had a late start this year.  I totally didn't even start using my AC until the end of August, but it has been on for the past 4 or 5 days non-stop.  UGH!  Can not wait to see my electricity bill for the month...soooo not looking forward to that!
Anyhoo...most of you know I have two crazy little boys, but I also have another adorable little monster that I watch everyday...my third son, my nephew, Aaron.  He is five years old and such a gentle soul...so easy to take care of, so low maintenance, so mellow and ohhh soooo quiet......that is - until he gets together with my 3 year old little devil!  Thats when the chaos begins, and with this unbearable heat and temperatures souring into triple digits, I was not able to give them as much outside time as they wanted and needed.  They would go outside for literally TWO minutes and the next thing I know they are back inside with their cheeks as red as beets, saying, we don't want to play outside.
This called for PLAN B!  This weekend was our water play weekend!  Friday, I took the boys outside, gave them a hose and let them have at it.  Not only did they get to have fun with water, but I also got a lot out of it...they not only did they water the lawn, but they also washed all their bikes, cars and scooters!
Saturday the boys played with water guns and they were in for a real treat when I filled up 100 water balloons for them!  As a side note I would like to say that there HAS to be an easier way to fill water balloons!  Even with the little gadget included with them, its still impossible to fill...it took me what seemed like forever to fill those puppies and my fingers are still throbbing...anyone that has any suggestions or tips of filling water balloons PLEASE shoot them over to me pronto!  I have 3 bags left and don't think I will be attempting to fill them anytime soon!
Sunday, I took the day off from designing fabulous, unique birthday invitations for Kreative Lil Invites and we had a great time at the cousin's pool!  Well...I THINK the boys had fun.  It is a gorgeous rock pool with waterfalls and slides which I guess could be intimidating for kids.  Aaron thought the water was too cold and began shivering so getting his feet wet was good enough for him.  Adam was in the water but it took him about an hour to stop screaming.  And little Kammy also could not handle the freezing cold pool so he was not a happy camper when he was in the pool!
According to the forecast this week calls for cooler temperatures which I really hope is true!  If not, then here comes another water play week!  Maybe head over to a water park!

Grandma's Birthday

It was Sal's mom's birthday last week...yes, yet another Leo in my life, I swear the closest people to me are Leo's - my sister, my husband, my best friend and my mother in law!  The crazy thing is that I am a Scorpio and supposedly Leos and Scorpio's are THE worst match ever!  Needless to say, I am not as passionate about astrological signs like I used to be...I think we are pretty much beating the odds as far as the zodiac is concerned (knock on wood!).
So Adam and Sal came up with this adorable birthday card for grandma, who Adam calls "Jamina".  Her real name is Jamila, but Adam could not say Jamila so he calls her Jamina and it stuck with him.  I am sure when Kamran begins to talk he will also refer to his grandmother as Jamina, and so on and so on.
Happy Birthday Grandma Jamina!!

Happy 9 Months Kammy!

Wow!  Where has the time gone!? Has it been nine months already!?  It feels like just yesterday I was nervously tossing and turning, trying to get atleast five minutes of shut-eye...anticipating being induced at 7am the next morning.  And now my little angel finally has his first two teeth, and is crawling too!
I thought those little pearly whites would never poke through!  Adam got his first tooth at 5 months, and Kamran seemed to be teething since he was 4 months, but every morning I would check his little mouth and....nada!  Nothing but gums!  Then one fine morning, I check and sure enough...not one, but TWO tiny teeth had pierced through his swollen gums.  I was so excited, and so was he, as he would feel them with his tongue all day long, still does!  In this picture, the teeth are not too clear, but they are there alright!  Kreative Lil Invites has "Firsts" greeting cards like the one we made for Kam, as part of our "Just Because" line of creative and unique invitations.
The next picture is just to show how much crazier life is once your baby starts crawling!!  With Adam, we were pushing him to crawl so much that he began crawling at 6 months, but soon after I realized that I liked it better when he was stationary!  With Kamran, I knew I would have to be on my toes twice as much, and as the picture speaks for itself, he is ALL over the place now!

Kreative Papa

Although it is rarely mentioned, my husband Sal is a BIG, HUGE part of Kreative Lil Invites and is a great graphic designer!  I have posted just a few of his creations which are not available on the website yet but should be soon!  For mothers day, he designed this funny "Super Mom" card...the card speaks for itself...totally hilarious and awesome!
The coin has Adam's picture on it and took him a few days to complete but it looks so real, I love it.
Stay tuned to KreativeLilInvites.com for more unique, modern and customized greeting cards and invitations!

My Lil Soccer Studmuffin

So my 3 year old Adam is the craziest, loudest, toughest kid....in the house.  As soon as he gets to school or  any public place where he is around other kids or people, he becomes this shy little boy who all of the sudden has no tongue!  I guess most kids are like this to some extent, but it is amazing how much Adam "talks" tough at home.  About one month ago he started in soccer camp through AFSO and he is the youngest kid there.  He was so enthusiastic and pumped to play soccer, and in our backyard, (as you can see from the first picture), he was such THE soccer stud!  He was talking about starting soccer camp and how he would kick the ball in the goal and hit it with his head and refers to himself as Diego Maradona.
So the first Sunday of soccer camp comes around and Adam looks absolutely adorable with his soccer gear on!  Ok, ok, so his uniform is just a TAD bit too big on him since they only have one size for all the kids and since most 3 year olds just sit around and watch.  So with his huge soccer shorts, and his one little shoulder exposed by his over sized soccer jersey, he grabs his soccer ball and says "bye mommy, I am going to play soccer and kick the ball so hard!  None of the other boys can get me!!" This was followed by a hurried hug and kiss as daddy loaded him in the car.
Well, about 2 hours later, I get a call from daddy saying that Adam wouldn't play with the other kids and all he did was whine and stand around doing nothing for the first hour.  I guess by the second part of his soccer day he began to open up a bit more and actually started doing warm ups and drills...well I guess the second picture says it all.  A much more timid and quiet Adam, and for those who know and love him, I know you will appreciate these pics!
